The current consumption from the public power grid does not take place sinusoidal like with a conventional transformer, but more in pulses. This fact is reflected in the current draft of VDE-AR-N 41001. Point 18.104.22.168 refers to harmonic currents up to 9 kHz to be controlled. In addition to power generating systems, plants and storage facilities are also included. Measures to reduce harmonic currents - in particular the construction of filter circuits - should be coordinated by the customer in consultation with the network operator. Accordingly, it can be assumed in the future that permanent current measurements up to 9 kHz will be carried out across the board in low voltage.
